We were absolutely blown away by the fun shared on the weekend at our Mandela Yoga and Arts Day with the children from Alexander.
It was beautiful to watch the children be themselves and embracing us to share yoga with them, they were true sports from the very youngest children to the teenagers. Incredible poses were witnessed and the children also allowed us to get messy with them through art activities, painting beautiful sunrises, teddy bears, gardens and so much more!
It was wonderful to see the two orphanages joining forces together which was a humbling experience to witness. We are so happy we had the opportunity to be apart of such a special occasion.
To everyone that came to frolic in the sun with us at the event, Thank you for making the day special and brighter! This includes the donations, food, catering, art supplies and pictures and amazing human that helped out and made the event a successful one. The donations we received were abundant and have gone to such an incredible cause.
In the wise words of Mr Mandela, “What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived. It is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead”.
Our hope is that the essence of Mandela Day stays with everyone long past the 18th of July and everyday can have a little Mandela Day in it.
